Verticals

This is the canonical registry of verticals belonging to the motions in the market catalog. A vertical is the smallest reusable market unit expected to share operating physics, ICP criteria, persona jobs, proof, and call language. The records follow the IDs, controlled values, and ownership rules in the sales how-to instructions.

This page defines vertical scope, routing, and proof-transfer boundaries. It does not assert that a matching account has a problem, and it does not supply market-persona bindings, ICPs, problems, solutions, proof, or call language.

Market verticals

The current vertical catalog belongs to M1. M2 and M3 do not yet have a canonical vertical because their repeatable boundaries remain under test.

Routing boundaries

  • A NAICS code is a list-building aid, not a qualification result. Verify the establishment's actual production process before assigning a vertical.
  • Distributors, fabricators, and assemblers do not enter a process vertical solely because they sell products made with that process.
  • Consumer packaging is not automatically part of industrial blow molding.
  • Rubber extrusion belongs in M1_V1 when extrusion is the dominant process; the material label alone does not determine the route.
  • Concrete pipe, metal pipe, aluminum extrusion, valves, coatings, linings, and similar end-market adjacencies are outside the active vertical-core catalog.
  • A shared customer, material, or end market can transfer context, but it cannot transfer production behavior or proof without the stated validation.

Migration and approval notes

The approved catalog retains explicit migration gaps. evidence_ids: null and persona_ids: null mean unknown or not yet migrated. They do not mean that the fields were reviewed and no records exist.
