Inbox
The inbox holds unreviewed call analyses, seller observations, and proposed changes. It is where every contribution enters the library, and nothing here is an approved sales claim.
Provisional, permanently
Two rules govern this folder and neither has an exception:
- An inbox item is never a generator input. No generated asset may draw a
line from here. This is why records whose only support sits in the inbox carry
evidence_ids: []and cannot assert anything as fact. - An item is never deleted on promotion. It stays in place with its outcome and the resulting record IDs recorded. The folder is the audit trail — the only place the original wording of an observation survives.
An inbox item is not a lower-quality record. It is a different kind of thing: raw observation with its provenance attached, before anyone decided what it means.
What a triage produces
W2 chooses exactly one of four outcomes:
New reusable content → W4, W5, W6, W7, or W8
Improvement to existing content → W13
Audience-specific selection or framing → update one audience binding
Insufficient or conflicting support → retain here, set review status
The fourth is a real outcome, not a failure. An observation that cannot yet be supported is recorded honestly rather than promoted to make it usable.
Promotion carries provenance through evidence references, never by copying the item's prose into a canonical record.
Statement types
An item records where each claim came from, and triage never upgrades it:
- A buyer's statement on a call is
call_learning. - A seller's belief or product claim is
founder_instinct. - Neither is
market_fact. That requires an evidence record.
Attribution that was inferred from context rather than stated is labelled as inferred.
Naming
YYYY-MM-DD-<short-description>.md. Keep the source, contributor, and date in the
item so a reviewer can trace the observation back.
Current items
| Item | Source | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-07-24 — Pipe call 1: quoting, margin, homegrown software | Four-plant plastic pipe extruder, call dated 2024-08-21 | Promoted to P_00001, P_00002, P_00003. Two observations retained, not promoted — channel- and vertical-specific |
| 2026-07-27 — Spray call 1: reporting, inventory, data recovery | Single-site manufacturer, call dated 2024-12-12; later converted to a paying customer | Promoted to P_00010, P_00011, P_00012; capability, objection, signal, and account-detail observations retained or routed |
| 2026-08-01 — Spray call 2: production quantity, consumables, workflow requirements | Follow-up call with the same single-site manufacturer, dated 2024-12-16 | Promoted to P_00013; reused P_00010, P_00011, and P_00012; capability and deal observations retained or routed |
No evidence record was created from either item, because the owning location
for EV_ records is unsettled. All resulting problems therefore carry
evidence_ids: [] and none may be asserted as fact.
Authoring
W1 to capture, W2 to triage — both in the
authoring workflows.
Everything goes to the inbox. Triage decides what becomes canonical, and that decision belongs to a person.
